Don't Take Your Hearing For Granted

If you have worked in a noisy environment for even a short amount of time without the proper protective equipment, you could be at risk for partial or total hearing loss, even if it takes awhile to really set in.

Have you noticed you've been having more trouble understanding or hearing what people are saying? If so, you should never take your hearing for granted or wait too long to let your doctor know. Hearing loss is serious and irreversible. Even with the technology of hearing aids today, hearing loss can impair your chances of retaining employment for your own safety as well as the safety of others.

It is important to also ensure you are proactive about protecting your hearing even if you are not experiencing problems, Loud work environments should require hearing protection equipment such as quality ear plugs or protective ear muffs to mask the sounds of your work environment. If you are concerned about the level of noise at your job, speak with management about securing the right protective equipment.
