Eye Health Vital to Employability

There are few jobs that can safely employ a person who does not have their sense of vision. In most cases, eyesight is a prerequisite for paying work. However, you also need to realize how important proper eye care is on a regular basis if you want to keep working.

As we age, our eyesight tends to get worse. You may not be able to see as you once did and may require prescription glasses in order to see clearly. For those who have been wearing glasses for a number of years, there is little chance your eyesight will improve over time without surgical intervention.

It is recommended that all people visit their optometrist on a regular basis to ensure their eye health is good. Failing vision that is not treated can lead to serious medical complications and if you can not see properly, you may not have a job to go to each day. Sight is an important part of health and safety on the job. If you can not see clearly, you can make mistakes that can lead to the injury of yourself or your co-workers.

Remember too that annual check ups with your optometrist can help catch any medical conditions that have an effect on the eyes. Whether or not you have a family history of eye disease, medical conditions affecting the eyes can be present without your knowing it. This makes it harder to recover from damage already done.

If you have suffered an eye injury during work, it is important to seek medical attention and protect your rights. Contact our office at 866-205-2415 or use our online contact form for more information.
