New York Times Investigates NY Workers' Compensation

Yesterday, the New York Times started a new series that will examine the challenges faced by injured workers in New York, and their struggles to deal with the bureaucracy of the Workers' COmpensation Board. The Times investigated the issuee for 18 months, and the resulting article can be read here if you missed it in yesterday's edition, page A-1.

While I don't want to spoil the article, the Times did not have many kind words for what they affectionatly described as, "the subbasement of the legal world". They also described it as a system that, "struggles to treat workers with due speed, protect employees from fraud or mute tensions in the workplace".

We will keep you up to date on future additions to the series titled, "A World of Hurt".
