One of the objectives of the 2007 Workers Compensation Reform was to provide a safety net to those most severely injured workers so that they’d continue to receive benefits. This has not happened. In fact some of the most severely disabled individuals who have also been found totally disabled under social security disability could be denied benefits. In order to remedy this unacceptable situation the NY Workers Comp Alliance has proposed legislation that would help these very individuals. They set-up a process so that we can send Governor Paterson, Senate Majority Leader Smith and state legislators an a-mail requesting their support for this much needed legislation. Please visit http://www3.capwiz.com/nyworkers/issues/alert/?alertid=13302936&PROCESS=Take+Action or click here, and make your voice heard! We need your support!
