The quaint village of Buchanan, New York was incorporated into the town of Cortlandt in 1928 and is located on the Hudson River. The village spans approximately 1.4 miles, but is home to the major energy provider Indian Point Power Plant. The nuclear power plant, owned by Entergy Nuclear Northeast, provides energy for 30% of New York State. The village was named after Alexander F.
