North Salem, New York is a town in Westchester County, New York that is comprised of the hamlets of North Salem, Salem Center, Purdys, Croton Falls, Grant's Corner and Twin Lakes Village. The town borders Connecticut on the east and is in the northeastern part of the county. The town is home to the Joseph Purdy Homestead, an official United States Historical Place, Hammond Museum, and, fictitiously, to the X-Mansion and Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters from the X-Men comic book series and movies.
