Speeding Up The Disability Process - Social Security's Ability to Fast Track Claims

In 2008, The Social Security Administration implemented a program called "Compassionate Allowances" in an attempt to expedite and speed up the disability claims for those suffering from serious diseases or medical conditions so severe that their conditions obviously rise to the level of a disabled individual.

This program has allowed the Administration to make decisions on particular cases in a matter of days, as opposed to months or even years. Social Security has implemented a list of 50 medical conditions that fall under this program and it plans to expand this list over time.
