The town/village of Ossining, New York is located in Westchester County, New York. Ossining is rich in history and many of its buildings are a part of the National Register of Historic Places, including the Richard Austin House, the Brandreth Pill Factory which was one of the first patent medicine companies in the US and Highland Cottage. Author John Cheever lived his later life in Ossining after he won the 1979 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction for a compliation of his short stories titled The Stories of John Cheever.
