The village of Sleepy Hollow, New York is located about 25 miles north of New York City, an easy 40 minute train ride to Grand Central Station. Originally called North Tarrytown, the name of the town was changed in 1996 to honor of the famous classic novel by resident Washington Irving, The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. The eighteenth century author is buried in the town, along with Andrew Carnegie, Elizabeth Arden, Walter Chrysler and Brooke Astor.
