An injured worker, Jose Cardenas, who was hurt by a falling electrical panel proved that the property owner was liable for an elevation-related injury under New York’s Scaffold Law.  Cardenas was working at a site when he was instructed to pry an 80-lb. electrical panel from a wall and lower it to the floor.  He attempted to pry the panel out of the wall with a crowbar to make it fall to the ground.  As he dislodged the panel, it collided with some pipes which caused the panel to fall onto his left arm and shoulder, causing serious injury.  Cardenas filed Labor Law 200, 241 (6) and 240(1), statutes commonly known as New York's Scaffold Law.
