Compassionate allowances: Help with severe injury or disability

It is no secret that it can take a very long time for Social Security Disability applications to be approved.   Not only does it take a long time, but the majority of applications are rejected the first time around, forcing applicants to either give up their claim or appeal.

For those suffering from very serious illnesses, injuries, or disabilities, this wait can be extremely detrimental.  Some severely disabled individuals may not live long enough to see their claim approved, and they need help immediately.

Because of this, the Social Security Administration created the compassionate allowance program, which provides benefits quickly to people with serious medical conditions.  The SSA maintains a list of impairments on their website, so applicants can quickly find out if they have a condition that is part of this program.

If you do have one of these covered conditions, apply for the compassionate allowance program.  Your claim will be expedited and you could receive disability benefits faster than you could have imagined.
