Construction Tops New York City Work Deaths

Workplace deaths dropped significantly around the country last year, but rose in New York City.  While there was  a 20% drop nationally, construction accidents were the leading cause of death in local fatalities.  Violence is another leading cause of death for city workers.  In New York, workplace violence is also a concern, often taking the lives of bodega employees and cab drivers.  While it might not be a source of comfort, families of those injured in these unfortunate accidents are eligible for workers' comp death benefits.
