Fewer Fatal Workplace Accidents Reported in New York City

As reported by The Associated Press, there were fewer fatal construction accidents in New York City this past year as compared to prior years.  In addition to this being a result of  slowdown in construction due of the economy, it is also likely due to tougher enforcement of safety rules.  While the number of fatalities was down, the number of construction worker injuries rose in 2009.  This increase could be due to more accidents being reported.  Read full article.
