Posted on Mar 22, 2010

The health overhaul package passed by the House on Sunday, March 21st and sent to the Senate for final action is the most far-reaching health legislation since the creation of the Medicare and Medicaid programs.

This article takes a look at the package and addresses a number of key issues to give you a clearer picture of where things stand how you might be affected.  Specifically, it addresses:

~  Whether or not you need to get health insurance if it's not something you already have
~  What to do if you want health insurance but can't afford it
~  What to do if you make too much money to receive Medicaid but still can't afford coverage
~  How the legislation will affect the type of insurance you purchase and whether or not it will be easier to get coverage even with existing health issues
~  How the legislation would affect young adults, seniors and small business owners
~  How much it's going to cost and whether or not it will increase taxes and if premiums will be affected
