James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act Needs Your Assistance

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) serves as the World Trade Center Program Administrator for various functions related to the WTC Health Program created as part of the James Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act. As the Federal government works toward developing a plan to implement the Act, they are looking for comments from the public to gain perspectives for how to meet the requirements of the Zadroga 9/11 Health and Compensation Act.

The purpose of this information request by the WTC Program Administrator is to determine if cancer should be added to the list of covered health conditions of the World Trade Center Health Program.

You can submit written comments to the NIOSH docket through April 29, 2011.

The National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health is looking for information pertaining to:

Scientific and medical findings, publications and reports detailing how airborne toxin exposure resulting from the 9/11 attacks are likely to cause, aggravate or contribute to cancer;
Clinical findings for community members, rescue workers, and cleanup workers of the WTC disaster site who have been directly exposed to the dusts of 9/11/01;
Information on scientific criteria used by medical experts to evaluate weight of medical and scientific evidence for cancer and similar health conditions.

Comments received under this NIOSH Docket will be available by April 30^th at the NIOSH Docket Web page.
