Long Island Couple Arrested for Workers' Comp Fraud

The New York State Insurance Fund (NYSIF) announces another case of workers' compensation fraud. In this situation, Joseph and Maria DiNapoli are charged with defrauding the fund $290,000. of workers comp coverage for their demolition and cleaning business.

It appears the Dinapoli's gave the NYSIF false information during insurance audits of their business for the years 2006 and 2007. Among other things, it appears they gave a different address for their business so as to have a lowers workers' comp premium. The defendents have not yet been proven guilty. Investigation and legal actions still underway.
