A New York construction worker was crushed to death by a dump truck at a boathouse site last week. The man, Joshua Larham, a 28-year old worker from Penn Yarn, NY, was fatally injured when another worker driving the dump truck slammed into him.
Larham and two other men were working on the boathouse on the Lower East Lake Road in Milo when the accident happened. The driver of the dump truck, Timothy Paddock, 60, also of Penn Yan, caused the accident when he lost control of his vehicle.
The truck was carrying stones for the work site and rolled down a 25-foot hill. It slammed into the boathouse and crushed Larham, who was working inside. The two other workers were working outside of the boathouse and survived the accident without injury.
According to police Larham was declared dead at the scene of the accident at 1:20pm on Tuesday October 20, 2009. The boathouse was demolished in the crash.
The names of the two other men working on the boathouse when the collision occurred have not been released. An investigation is underway as police attempt to discover the cause of the accident.
