NY Workers Comp Board Removes Doctor from Treating Injured Workers

Yet again......the New York Workers' Comp Board announced the removal of a physician due to professional misconduct.  It was reported that Dr. Mark Slager of Barneveld, NY admitted to engaging in professional misconduct which led to his removal from the NYS Workers' Comp Board's authorization list of those doctors permitted to provide medical treatment to injured workers.  Slager is also prohibited from performing IME's (independent medical exams) of workers who suffered work-related illnesses or injuries.  Slager's removal went into effect July 12, 2010.
