Paterson Nominates Former Aide to NY Workers' Comp Board

Posted on Jul 14, 2010

As reported in The Daily News, Governor Paterson recently nominated a former aide to ex-Nassau County Executive Thomas Suozzi to the NYS Workers' Comp Board.  The position being filled by Charo Ezdrin pays $90,800 a year - and comes with a six-year term.  He is installing a few other "cronies" to positions as well - the question being raised focuses on those whom he is appointing - are they all qualified and appropriate or is he just "stacking the deck" before he leaves office?

Spokesman Morgan Hook defended the appointment, while some Paterson critics believe he should leave it to his successor to make the picks for multiyear appointments.
