STATE INSURANCE FUND TO BE INVESTIGATED FOR FRAUD MISMANAGEMENT AND WASTE

FRAUD - if one were to listen to the late night radio advertisements paid for by the State Insurance Fund you would believe that everyone injured on the job is making fraudulent claims agains the New York State Workers Compensation Board and the State Insurance Fund. However, FRAUD is also prevelant amongst employers and even the STATE INSURANCE FUND itself.

A few weeks ago it was reported that an employee of the Fund, Randall Hinton, receives $93,803 a year for doing nothing. ( See Article) or Post Article.

Now the State's Inspector General is stepping in to examine this incident and others of mismanagement, abuse and waste at the NY State Insurance Fund. See James Odato's Article in Albany Times Union
