Stimulus Aid Trickles Out, but States Seek Quicker Relief

In a New York Times Article today, Michael Cooper reports on the status of the $787. billion stimulus package and the monies that have been spent to date.  The intent of the stimulus program was to pump money into the economy quickly; $45.6 billion has been spent so far mostly to help states cover the costs of Medicaid and unemployment benefits, one-time $250 checks going to Social Security recipients, and income tax cuts that began to take effect this spring.
