Use of Temporary Workers Invites Exposures

With the economic situation the way it is and companies still working with smaller teams, the number of temporary workers in still on the rise.  While this carries many benefits, employers must be sure they are aware of state and federal employment laws.  Many don't realize that when they hire temporary employees through temp agencies they're potentially exposing themselves to most, if not all, the same risks that are involved in directly hiring employees.  Thus, the use of temporary workers can invite exposures for which employers.  Keep in mind, a major benefit of using stafffing agencies to fill temporary spots -- they generally pay workers compensation premiums for the worker, which provides the employer with liability protection if the worker is injured.
