Volunteer Firefighter Celebrates 100th Birthday

The Firemen’s Home, located in Hudson, recently celebrated the 100th birthday of one of its volunteer firefighters, William “Bill” LaGrange.

Bill was born in Westerlo, New York on January 18, 1910. He grew up on his family’s farm where he helped his father with the farm as well as other family businesses.  After completing high school, Bill worked as a tractor trailer mechanic before helping to found the Westerlo Volunteer Fire Company, where he served as an active member for 69 years.
