This Video demonstrates the first part of Meniscus Surgery
The Meniscus
Simply put, the meniscus is a half-moon shaped (one on each side) cartilage that sits between the upper leg bone (femur) and the lower leg bone (tibia). This cartilage helps to cushion the bones and acts as a shock absorber. It also helps the knee to bend and move properly.. Therefore, it is obvious that injuring this part of your body could have significant consequences, such as limiting your ability to work, walk and bend.
Some Common Symptoms of a Meniscus Tear
You may experience the following symptoms that you should tell your doctor:
* swelling around the knee * restricted motion * pain * inability to stand on the effected leg * clicking or locking in the knee
