Depression As A Viable Claim For Disability Benefits

Individuals suffering from clinically diagnosed depression may very well be entitled to Federal Social Security Disability benefits. Whether the depression was triggered by a traumatic event or simply by the passage of time, depending on the severity of one's condition coupled with any side effects from medications, social security disability is a viable option for those individuals who are eligible.

While depression is a highly subjective state of mind, treating with a licensed Psychiatrist or medical professional can confirm how serious the condition is. Psychiatrists often times give opinions as to a person's capabilities in the workplace while taking their mental condition into account.  Since they are highly trained in the field of psychological impairments, a doctor's opinion about a person's mental well-being may be the difference in a Social Security Disability case.
